Brad Holmes - Activism & Student Power (3/6/18 6pm - 8pm)

  • Eaton Humanities Building on CU Boulder Campus. Room 135 University of Colorado (map)

Join East Boulder County United and the Boulder County Protectors in an informal get-together to talk about Environmental Activisim, Community Rights and Student Power. Brad Holmes, a student at Bowling Green State in Ohio, will discuss his experiences with organizing and activism and his dealings with a resistant local government.

Brad Holmes will give a short synopsis of his background, the pipeline proposal in Bowling Green, Ohio, the ensuing livable climate bill of rights and how the politicians fought it, and what the community plans going forward. As the Bowling Green BOR was very much pushed by the student population, he will also be speaking about his experiences of organizing as a student.

This event will also provide options for joining efforts to protect Boulder County from a looming assault by the oil and gas industry.
